Ears Up is a dog clicker, whistle and attention sounds for iPhone and iPad. If something isn't working, the answers below cover almost everything. Otherwise, email kelly.danielle.king@gmail.com and say which iPhone and iOS version you're on.

No sound?

The click plays twice

That's by design. A real box clicker makes a click when you press and a clack when you release. Press and hold if you want to separate them.

Why can't my dog hear the whistle from far away?

The whistle is a high-pitched tone played through your phone's speaker. It carries well across a park but it is not a "silent" or ultrasonic whistle, and phone speakers aren't as loud as a metal whistle. Try the Low preset, which phone speakers reproduce most strongly, and hold the ball to sustain the tone. Pea trill is the referee-whistle sound, easier to pick out against wind.

Lock screen and Control Center

On iOS 18 you can add Ears Up controls to Control Center and to the two buttons at the bottom of the lock screen (Settings → Wallpaper → Customize). Tapping one opens Ears Up and plays the sound straight away. Home screen and lock screen widgets do the same, and "Click in Ears Up" works with Siri and the Action button.

Does it collect anything?

No. There's no account, no analytics, no internet connection. See the privacy policy.
